There are many great places to go in and about the Seattle area for coffee. Of course, everyone knows that you can get pretty "sleepless in Seattle" during the fall and winter when we do have more drizzle. The coffee houses and drive thru coffee "huts" in our area are always busy. One of the first things that you learn after moving to the area is that there are many interesting and fun places to go for a great cup of tea or coffee.
And, that the baristas behind the bar at these coffee houses have turned making a great cup of "Joe" into a work of art! You may find your coffee to be embellished with foam that looks like a heart, leaf or many other creative things. Some of these baristas can really wow you with their designs. They not only warm you up on a chilly day with a white chocolate mocha (my personal favorite) but also bring a smile to your face with their art.
Some places, like Pegasus, also offer a nice selection of wine or beer to go with their soups and sandwiches. Bainbridge Island also has a local winery.
It is great when the community supports the many local merchants, farmers' markets, and such. Many of the restaurants feature fresh, in season, organic vegetables. Farmers markets are very busy in our area! I love to visit them!
Sometimes, it is nice to just sit and relax at one of the many coffee spots. You can listen to music or chat with loved ones and friends while sipping tea, coffee or your favorite beverage... or, you might want to just quietly thumb through a magazine or book. These are also great places to sit and have something warm while you write in your journal and recall the day's events...
Go ahead, make it a "grande"...
Come sit by me and relax.... How was your day today? Would you like a danish?
Pegasus Coffee House beckons.... I'll have a grande non-fat white chocolate mocha! Ahhhh--- then, we'll be ready to sing in the rain... xoxo Have a "Bluebird Day" today! Spring is on it's way soon!
