As you know, the Seattle area can be cool and drizzly in the winter time. Like most people, I look forward to the first signs of spring coming.
We had a beautiful weekend, so my husband and I went out for a drive in his convertible to enjoy some sun and the beauty around us. In the Northwest, you learn to take advantage of the first beautiful days as April approaches. This is Dye's Inlet pictured in Silverdale, WA, not far from the little town we live in.
On our drive, we spotted several cherry trees beginning to bloom...
As we drove by the old historic town of Silverdale, we noticed we weren't the only ones out enjoying the nice weather...
We spotted a seagull sitting on top of the Bistro enjoying the day...
Along with the cherry trees, we also see a lot of daffodils in our area as spring approaches...
We spot some beautiful crocus...
It is getting later in the day so we head back over to our little community and walk down by the waterfront...
We walk by the boats that are used for teaching sailing... resting quietly on the dock... They will be out on the water another day. I love the reflection of the colors in the water so have to make a photo.
We begin to hear the church bells play as we stroll about. The church plays several songs late in the day and you can hear it throughout the community. I always love hearing the bells...
Making photos, I discover someone stood here and professed their love at some point... romantic... Did I ever say that when my husband and I were young, he climbed up to the top of a water tower in the small town in Florida we lived in and painted my name? He did...
Walking in the park area next to the marina, we spot young couple with their pet rabbit. They have him on a long leash and are letting him hop in the grass. They are nice enough to let me photograph him.
Time passes and the afternoon is quickly turning into dusk. The Northwest air can be chilly in early spring, and I have my jacket on as we head back to our car...
The sky is reflected in the water...
We have seen some lovely things on our drive...pretty flowers...trees in bloom...even a bunny enjoying his day in the sun as he hopped from one clump of grass to the next.
Living in the Northwest, we know we have a few more chilly days ahead and also the rain may fall.... but we know that Spring is coming quickly and Easter is not far behind. I hope that you have a wonderful day today. Happy Spring! xoxo Kim

I didn't know Dad did that!?! We just drove by the water tower today and Bren said "I wonder how long that's been there." Papa will have to tell her the story one day. XOXO Ashley

Hi Ashley and Brenna!
Thanks for the comment today. That water tower has been there FOREVER! I remember it when I was a kid in elementary school and attended Whispering Hills Elementary which is right by the tower. Yes, we were in high school, and he climbed up the tower (with a friend that was dating my sister) and painted our names on the top of the water tower for the whole town to see.... now that is true love! ha He will have to tell you the story. Everytime I see the movie "Sweet Home Alabama" and the scene where the guys are sitting on the water tower, I think of this story! Have a wonderful day! I am going to put your blog name on my "nest to nest--other nests to visit" and hope you have a beautiful day! xoxo Love, Kim
