Flowers are such a big part of the special events in our lives...
It is hard to compete with the beauty of Mother Nature...
Try to imagine an important event like a prom, homecoming, wedding, anniversary or Valentine's Day without flowers.... What would a beauty pageant, formal dinner, hospital stay, performance on stage, or even the Kentucky Derby be without some type of bouquet? How many of us have pressed a rose between the pages of a book to save it or dried a prom corsage or wristlet to save it forever? I know I have... Memories preserved forever...
Flowers also add beauty to our daily lives... Any room or dining table looks more welcoming and romantic with a bouquet of flowers.
I love to receive flowers from my husband for a special occasion like a birthday, anniversary or valentine's day. Sometimes, he brings me flowers just because he loves me. That is the best gift of all....
Now that my children are older, sometimes, I receive flowers to mark a special event, like a birthday or Mother's Day, from one of them. So special...
Why wait for a special occasion? Too often, as women, we wait for someone else to give us flowers... How long has it been since you have had a fresh flower or small bouquet in your home? Why not treat yourself?
Today was one of those days that I decided to treat myself to a couple of stems of flowers. We have the most beautiful flowers here in the marketplaces. I have always loved pink roses. I chose two of the most beautiful pink rosebuds and took them home to place them in a vase. I have a few pretty crystal budvases and found the perfect one...
I placed the vase on the nightstand next to my bed. I can see the roses as I pass by the room from the doorway and also enjoy them while reading or having tea before bed. I love the way flowers look next to a bed and sometimes place them in the bedroom of my guestroom when we have company visiting. It just makes them feel special and they always appreciate the gesture.
Flowers add color and warmth to any room...
Flowers in a room say, "Welcome! YOU are special"...
I love how the deep pink color of the roses look against the white and sea blue of my linens... a nice splash of color...
Give yourself a little treat...raise your spirits....make it your own special day....
When you pass by the flower section of your market, nursery, or farmer's market today....
stop and pick out a special stem or two of flowers...
Pick out a flower that says...YOU...and take it home to enjoy. You might even select a second one for that special neighbor or friend that you think is special, too! You may have some pretty things blooming in your own garden. Sometimes, we have wonderful blooms right in our own backyard. Pick a little nosegay or bouquet for yourself today. YOU are worth celebrating today! Have a beautiful day! xoxo Kim
A Poem by Olivia Taylor...
FLOWER
Flower, flower grow for me,
Become a flower from a seed,
Grow your roots and a stem,
Let the water come right in
Flower, flower you are true,
You make me happy when I am blue,
You became a flower from a seed,
You did all that just for me
Beautiful roses! Love the color. I'll post some when mine are in bloom. I have 5 rose bushes and hope to plant a couple more this season.
Flowers truly are a miracle! Nothing soothes the soul like flowers! The poem says it all.
Beautiful posting from beautiful YOU. Thanks Kim

Hi Sandy,
You will have to make some photos of your roses, too, once they bloom. Roses do truly make you feel special and loved...no matter if you receive them from someone else or buy them yourself. They brighten any day. I hope you have a beautiful day today! xoxo Kim

I love roses! I've had 2 big vases of roses this week and now I have some smaller bud vases filled with roses from the bushes in our flower bed. I have them up on the bar in the kitchen and they smell wonderful when you walk by! It makes me happy! Enjoy your day, sweet lady! ♥
