We are beginning to have some beautiful weather where we live in the Northwest. Yesterday, the sun was shining brightly and so I went for a little walk.
First, I walked through the neighborhood and made a few photos of some of the flowers starting to bloom...
Then, I made some photos of a few of the flowers in my own yard...
On Mother's Day 2010, I planted this pink dogwood tree in my front yard to honor the memory of my dear Mother. I grew up in Florida but she was raised in Tennessee. My Mom used to talk about all the beautiful dogwood blooms she would see there. I am happy to see my dogwood tree is blooming this year...
My dogwood is a young tree, but it already has several blooms on it...
I am in the process of replanting my window boxes under the windows of my home right now. I have some snapdragons, which I love, and also some geraniums planted so far...
I'll be posting more photos of my window boxes as I continue to plant. The ground cover is blooming right now. I love to see the deep blue color.
The azaleas are blooming too...
By the time I completed my neighborhood walk and made some photos in the yard, my husband was ready to walk into town with me...
We walked to the waterfront. There are many boats starting to come in for the upcoming Viking Festival this weekend.
Here is someone we spotted enjoying a little ride on the water...
I love hearing the church bells play each day...
After a walk along the waterfront, it was time for dinner so we headed over to one of the restaurants we enjoy called Sogno di Vino. There is a lovely magnolia tree planted in front of the restaurant that blooms every year. The restaurant has lights strung up on the tree, and it looks very pretty as the sun begins to set...
You can still see a few of the blooms left on the tree...
From the upstairs section of the restaurant, you can see a few of the boats in the marina. We love to sit by the window that looks out to the magnolia tree and the view of the marina. We enjoy sitting in the loft area because they have an acoustical guitarist that plays and sings on some evenings. Sometimes, we walk into town on a Saturday night just to have a glass of wine or an irish coffee and listen to the music. Very relaxing...
After a nice dinner, it was time to walk home...
And look who was there to greet us....
Hope you have a great Friday and enjoy the upcoming weekend! We have a festival called Viking Fest in our town this weekend. We live in a Norwegian community, and this is a yearly festival for our town. There will be a lot of activity by the waterfront and a parade tomorrow. I will be taking some photos to share with you. Have a beautiful day! xoxo Kim

Dear Kim,
Thank you so much for your sweet visit to my blog. The dogwood tree I planted for my Mother is very special to me. It is so nice to see something grow and bloom in honor of someone that you love that is no longer with you. Even though they are gone, like the tree, your love continues to grow for them. It is nice to look out my living room window and see the dogwood blooms each day while the tree is in bloom. Kim, I love your new site and enjoy visiting each day. You are the photographer that I strive to be. Your photos are amazing! You have such talent and a huge heart. Love you lots! xoxo Kim

Kim! Gorgeous photos! Your dogwood tree is a beautiful tribute to your mother. So glad that you have such lovely blooms on it after only the first year. It's a wonderful way to honor your mother's memory.
Little sweet Sadie Mae is so adorable! I could just pick her up and kiss her! I love the little green bow. I can't keep anything like that on Kayla (monkey face).
Like Kim from Daisy cottage said keep clicking!
