Bluebirds and Butterflies

Hi Stacie,
I am so glad you enjoyed checking on my flowers with me today. Your comment makes me happy because my blog began as a way for me to heal from losing my parents...in some ways it is a tribute to them. I wanted to share some of the things that have helped me with my journey through life without my dear mom, whom I was extremely close to, and my dad, whom I loved dearly. I love taking photos and writing so the blog seemed a natural path for me to share some of the things that have helped me to heal...and see the beauty around me again. I wanted to journal about the people, places, and things that I love...in hopes that something would touch someone and help them, too... The Seattle area can be very overcast in the winter with many days of drizzle. Some have compared us to England and France as far as weather goes. It doesn't snow a lot here, you don't need an umbrella most days, and the temps usually don't dip too far past a low of 32. But, the Spring-times and Summers are fabulous! The temperatures are usually pleasant, we have very long days of sunlight, and there are gorgeous blooms everywhere! Summertime here is perfect, to me. I hope that you get to visit the area sometime...come in July or August when it is very hot in other parts of the U.S. You would love it! xoxo Kim

Hi Mrs. Zwieg,
Hope you are doing well in Texas. I just got my ticket to come out that way for my son's wedding in November...there are great prices on tickets to Houston right now. Good to see! Thank you for the nice comments. I love taking photos...still learning to use my camera... A work in progress! Have a great day, xoxo Kim

Bluebirds and Butterflies

Hi Laura,
Thank you so much! My photos are a work in progress...but a labor of love. I am still learning about my camera. I have a Cannon EOS camera and I just adore it! It is the Cannon EOS Rebel T3i model. I have two different lenses right now that I use. I am hoping to add a third to my collection at some point. One of my good blogger friends, Sandy, of the Delightful Eclectic Abode has a different camera that she loves, too. Her camera makes very good photos as well. There are several wonderful cameras out there. I upgraded my camera after I started my blog because I couldn't quite get the photos that my eye and heart wanted to capture with my smaller digital camera. I still use that camera, too, at times, but mainly use my EOS. I appreciate your nice comments on my photos. I am so glad you enjoyed visiting the garden with me. Have a beautiful day! xoxo Kim

WOW Kim...these pictures are gorgeous! The colors are so vivid, I felt like I was right there. We are finally getting some nice days, we missed out on Spring totally. Enjoy it all ;D

Bluebirds and Butterflies

Hi Julie,
Hope you have been enjoying your special time with your family. I am so glad you enjoyed visiting my garden with me. Sounds like we have had very similar experiences with Spring this year! We are getting more nice days now...so happy to see it come! xoxo Kim

Red Rose Alley

Hi Kim,
What gorgeous flowers. My favorite bird is the Hummingbird. In fact, I sent a little story to all my e-mail friends about the Hummingbird. They hold a special place in my heart. Your RED ROSES are fabulous. There's nothing prettier to me than a red rose. Thanks for sharing all your flowers with us.

Hi Sheri,
I loved your posting on the mermaids, too! Yes, I agree...red roses say it all... "I love you, I'm sorry, Happy Birthday, Happy Valentine's day, Congratulations...and just because"....all without saying a word. Handing someone a red rose speaks from the heart... I love gerber daisies, too! Those were my mom's favorites. Have a wonderful day today! xoxo Kim

Gorgeous photos! Your garden is lovely! I've been really busy this past week in the garden with paint brushes and spray paint. I'll post some pics this week. The garden party today was lovely!

You really are taking some great photographs!

~Hugs, Sandy

You're garden looks beautiful!!! I love the lavender. Ours is still struggling, it doesn't care for the Florida heat. I've been seeing a new visitor in the garden out back - a blonde squirrel! It's all blonde with a bright white tip on its tail. I've been keeping the camera out to try to get a shot. Love from Florida!!

Kim, I am craving gardening so I decided to do a google search and yours popped up. Once again, I have to say these photos are amazing!!
