Don't you just love frozen yogurt? To me, there is not a more refreshing treat on a warm day than a scoop or two of delicious, creamy frozen yogurt! Yogurt or sorbet is always a good low-fat/low sugar alternative to regular ice cream, so for people like me who try to watch their weight, it is a great choice for a snack.
As many of my readers know, I recently flew to Houston from Seattle to help my son celebrate his 29th birthday. I spent a week with my son and his wife and had a wonderful visit with them. While in Houston visiting, I helped my daughter-in-law host a birthday party for my son. The guest list included many of my son's friends. We had a great time celebrating!
The day after the party, on Sunday, we spent a relaxing day walking and browsing in an area of town known as Mid-Town in Houston. Sundays are great for spending time with your family. We had a wonderful time dining alfresco at a local creperie. After our lunch and more browsing, we spotted the most adorable yogurt bar called "Sweet Lola." The shop was calling to us, so we decided to venture in for some desert. :)
Inside this shop awaits the most delicious yogurt with every imaginable topping available.
I was in yogurt heaven you might say...
You can sample all the featured flavors, and that is exactly what we did. All were delicious....
And, if just the yogurt itself were not enough to entice you into Sweet Lola Yogurt Bar, the shop also sells some gift items. I purchased a wonderful book in the shop while browsing. Love the decor of this cute little shop.....so cheerful!
I was so in love with Sweet Lola Yogurt Bar that I asked the friendly people serving us if I could make a few photos to share with you on my blog. They not only said they would be happy for me to do this, but also took one of my blog cards.
Flowers brighten any day...
I love sconces and chandeliers.... I am all about the ambience....
Look at this adorable apron that was for sale...
Looks like we are not the only ones who have discovered this little gem, "Sweet Lola"....
There is a cute spot to relax and enjoy some delicious yogurt with all the toppings right inside the shop.
But, on this gorgeous Houston day, we chose to sit outside and listen to the birds and savor our yogurt at one of the outdoor bistro tables...
When I shared this photo with a friend, I was told this looks like I could be dining in Paris....
Merci! How do you say, "This Sweet Lola Yogurt is awesome" in French?
The English word is "Yum!" :) Or, as the sign says in my next photo....."Crave worthy!"
When I find a place I love, I enjoy sharing this experience with others. I hope that if you visit the Houston, Texas, area in the future and are looking for a great treat on a beautiful afternoon, that you visit "Sweet Lola Yogurt Bar." I know I will be returning again on my next visit to Houston.
Thank you to the nice folks at "Sweet Lola" for your good old southern hospitality and for letting me make all these photos and feature you on my blog.
I hope that you are having a wonderful day today. Thank you for visiting me at my blog, Bluebirds and Butterflies.
Have a "bluebird" day! xoxo Kim Click here for the link to the shop featured today Sweet Lola Yogurt Bar
WOW, that's some really nice advertising for SWEET LOLA.
How lovely you look Kim sitting there with your lovely French looking outfit. You do belong in Paris : )
In French we say "C'est si bon ", or "Ce yogourt sucré Lola est génial".
Glad you had fun with your son and DIL. They are a very handsome couple.
I hear it's raining in Vancouver. I hope you aren't getting it.
It's been in the high 80's here, so beautiful. I've been in the pool for days: ) All shrivelled up.
Take care and have a great summer Kim.

Hi Kim! Welcome back! I'd get in trouble at Sweet Lolas! I'd start out with low fat yogurt and probably pile on the calories with all the toppings. What a sweet place. Love the gift shop too. Yes, you do look like you are at an outdoor cafe in Paris. You look like a model that could be on the front cover of a magazine! Love our outfit.
Welocme back Kim, I've missed you! Glad to hear you had a wonderful time with your son and sweet daughter-in-law. We had our 3 grandchildren come visit from Delaware and had a fabulous time! They left today and I miss them already!
Hugs, Sandy

C'est si bon! Thank you, Claudie! I hope that you have been having a wonderful summer as well! Great to hear from you. I am wondering how your trip to that fabulous Bed and Breakfast was? I am on my way to visit you at your blog :) I have been so busy with family travel lately that I have been taking a short hiatus from my blog. Now catching up with what everyone has been doing. Yes, we did have some rain today in our neck of Washington State. We have had a few beautiful days but summer seems to be slow coming this year. Yesterday, we had a record breaking cool day for this time of year. All this weather is wonderful for the flowers though. They are blooming like crazy! I love seeing all the beautiful flowers. Thank you for visiting me and for the sweet comments. Love ya, Kim

Hello my sweet friend! I have missed you. I come on over ever now and then to check and see if you have any new postings, and I was so glad that you did. Sweet Lola yogart bar sounds like such a delightful place. I also love yogurt, and I think it is a great substitute for icecream. I'm glad you got to celebrate your son's 29th birthday with him. Nel turned 30 this year - I can't believe I have a 30 year old. You look so cute sitting at the table eating your yogurt. I only wish I was in the chair next to you so we could have a nice chat. I hope you're having a good summer. It won't be too long for Nel's wedding, and I have just been busy with all the preparations, as you know well. Take care, and I hope your week is a good one.

Happy 4th of July, my dear friend! Do you have anything fun planned? I think we will just go out to lunch tomorrow, and watch the fireworks later at the local fairgrounds. Sometimes simple times are the best times. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Hi Kim! Happy 4th of July! Hope you and Mark are out on your boat or somewhere cool celebrating our freedom today! So glad to see that you are back. I figured you needed some time after your aunt passed away. Taking a blog break is good sometimes. Since I still work full-time I only post once or twice a week. Always good to hear from you, so thanks for stopping by to take a look at my back porch.
xxoo,
Sandy

Hello Kim! I am Sarina, the owner of Sweet Lola Yogurt Bar. Many thanks for visiting Sweet Lola while in Houston and your terrific photos and blog. You obviously have stellar taste :)
...and yes, when we designed Sweet Lola it was done so with Parisian cozy chic in mind. We wanted everything about our concept to be luscious...a feast for the eyes as well as extraordinarily tasteful in our flavors and toppings.
Lola sends her love,
Sarina

Hi there, Sandy! Thanks for visiting me. Yes, I have been taking a hiatus from blogging over the summer. I lost my Aunt in April (my Mom's sister and last sibling in my Mom's family) and took time off to spend time with my family. I am currently working on a new posting so check back! Love you and miss you, too! xoxox Kim
