As promised, today, I will highlight the historic Banff, Canada, Fairmont Hotel.
The hotel is so majestic nestled among the many tall trees...
My son, Brandon, and I were exploring Banff for the day, and a friend of his just happened to be vacationing at the hotel at the time we were there. His friend, Alan, had been working in Calgary, too, and went to Banff on the weekend for an extended trip. Alan was nice enough to take us on a big tour of the entire hotel. Very nice of him!
The inside is fabulous so I won't spend too much time on the front of the hotel...
Let's step inside the door of the hotel. The first thing we noticed was this carpet...
The lights are very ornate and interesting...
Here is a photo of my son, Brandon (on left) with our friend, Alan, on the staircase of the main lobby...
I love the old look of the hotel elevators...
One of the large conference or banquet rooms...
Ornate details are everywhere in the hotel...
Stained windows were pretty...
Another large banquet room...
The top of the columns...
Another photo showing the large windows...
Standing guard...
Some of the tapestries on the walls...
Back of the hotel...
We walked outside onto the back patio area... There was a pool there with some lounge chairs and a beautiful mountain and wooded view...
A little deer walked over and was grazing in the grassy area near the pool.
Evidently, the little deer dines here frequently, because there were people sitting in the pool area which didn't seem to bother the deer. The view behind the hotel was beautiful. My son's friend made a photo of Brandon and I together with the scenic view in the background...
The lounging area outside...
The weather was mild but you could still see some remnants of snow...
My son, Brandon...
The sun was shining pretty brightly. This is a photo my son took of me on the balcony.
After a nice tour, we headed back into the hotel to make our way back to the entrance lobby...
A few more photos of things we noticed inside the hotel...
Here are some distant shots of the Banff Springs Hotel...
While making my photos, I happened to notice a bride and groom having photographs made with this fantastic background behind them. Not to disturb the happy couple, I made this photo from a distance. You cannot see the groom because he is on the other side of her, however, you can see the pretty bride posing for a photo. I had a jacket on...so I am sure she was a little chilly while posing...but I am sure it made a lovely photo! Congrats to this happy couple...
Thank you, Alan, for the tour of the Fairmont Hotel. It was fun meeting up with you for dinner and the falls tour as well. Brandon and I thank you for your hospitality.
It was so much fun to explore the Hotel and surrounding area with my son, Brandon. I hope to come back sometime and enjoy the area with my husband and younger son, Elliott, as well... Definitely an area to visit again...
